To mark the anniversary of the promulgation of the Indian Constitution and reiterate the values enshrined in the Constitution, St. Vincent Pallotti College organized National Constitution Day on Saturday, November 26, 2022. Rev. Fr. Andrew Roshan Alva, Principal, SVPPUC, was the Chief Guest, and Dr. E. Jerome Xavier, Principal, chaired the session.
Fr. Andrew Roshan Alva stressed to the students the significance of Constitution Day, as well as the people who contributed to the development of the Indian constitution. He emphasized the fundamental contrasts between the Indian Constitution and those of other countries, using instances to illustrate the Constitution's requirements such as societal, familial, and individual demands. In his speech, he emphasized the preamble of the Indian Constitution, which states that India is a sovereign, socialist, secular, and democratic republic that aspires to ensure justice, liberty, and equality to all citizens and foster fraternity to protect the nation's unity and integrity.
Dr. E. Jerome motivated the students to reaffirm their commitment to uphold the ideology laid down in the Indian Constitution.
